The 2012 Rio is coming back with previously unseen levels of eye-catching design, advanced technologies and sophistication in the small car arena. The Rio will be available in three different trim packages, starting with the LX, which comes with 15-inch steel wheels, body-color door handles and side mirrors. The top-level trim is the SX, which will sport 17-inch wheels, fog lamps, LED daytime running lights, a dual-tip exhaust and heated mirrors with turn signal repeaters. Meanwhile, the five-door Rio5 SX, will be upgraded to projector headlights.
There are two different versions available for the 2012 Rio, the small-sized 4-door sedan or 5-door hatchback style. For those of you who opt for the 4-door sedan style, there are three trim versions to choose from; the SX, LX, and the basic version. If you prefer the hatchback model, then you will only have one choice, which is the SX version.
The 2012 Rio has been completely re-skinned, now boasting a high-shouldered, wedge-shaped look, re-shaped to better integrate with the car's headlights, slimmer version of the familiar grille, The 2012 Rio has also expanded a few inches, now totaling 171.9 inches in length and 67.7 inches in width. The widened body and use of high-tensile steel in the car's construction makes for significantly smoother ride and improved handling over the previous Rio models.
